SONA
I just watched the SONA of GMA a while ago. First, let me comment about the constant clapping the crowd did. It was so funny because it was so obvious that it was scripted, I mean after a few words they would suddenly erupt in a round of applause but it was also evident that not the whole audience was moved by what GMA said. Others were yawning, staring and simply taking notes the “palakpak boys” didn’t prod their position they were there to listen not to participate in a clap fest (which if combined I think took longer than the speech!) I also noticed that GMA kept looking at the crowd while they were clapping (translation: checking who’s her ally or her foe in the gallery) Another thing that caught my attention was that Senator Drilon didn’t even clap; Speaker De Venecia was so tired for clapping for the both of them. It was hilarious watching the two up there on stage, one was clapping religiously while the other barely moving. Furthermore, the Palace had a press release that her dress was recycled, but when I saw it… well, okay maybe the cloth was recycled but the dress looked new.
Enough of that let me get to her speech. Of course she told a litany of her accomplishments. Which included taking part in the peace talks with out Muslim brothers, renewing ties with the UN and the United States of America. The most obvious agenda of the SONA is to promote the Charted Change (cha-cha) which will make our government Parliamentary instead of Democratic. Yeah, she will let the decision be made by the Congress but she was really bent on changing our government. I guess because that is her only escape. She of course wouldn’t want to resign because after doing everything to grab power in 2001 and cheat in the 2004 elections, why would she? Guys before you criticize me of just pointing out the bad side of the SONA I actually liked one thing she said. The proposition for the vocational courses to be qualified for degrees; this is for the better employment of people who can only afford vocational college courses. I think this should be done to prop up employment in the country which will lead to profit and the rise of our economy.
That’s just my opinion! You can mock me all you want but I’m sticking by it!!!
